In order to support GS1 Vietnam’s members as well as other interested bodies in Ha Tinh and in surroundings to apply efficiently numbering and bar coding into manufacturing, trading activities especially for document management, on October 07th 2016, GS1 Vietnam co-operated with STAMEQ’s branch in Ha Tinh organized the Scientific seminar on “GS1 numbering, bar coding and document management” in the province.
Attending the seminar, there were representatives from the STAMEQ’s branch, from some other functional organizations such as Departments Food Safety and Hygiene, Department of Market Management, Provincial Library, Department of the Provincial Archives, the Center for Applied Science and Technology Equipment, Department of Science and Technology in Ha Tinh as well as GS1 Vietnam’s members in the province and other companies from neighbor provinces.
After the open remark of Mr. Phung Manh Truong – VSQI Deputy Director, Mr. Vu Hoang Duong – GS1 Vietnam technical manager – presented to the audiences the system of legal documents, the international as well as domestic related requirements. Then Ms. Nga Phan – GS1 Vietnam Exec. Manager – introduced the way to utilize GS1 numbering and bar coding to manage trade items throughout the supplying chain. She concentrated on one specific GS1 identifier key GDTI (Global Document Type Identifier) to apply in the work of libraries and archives
GDTI – one GS1 identification key which can be encoded in a barcode or printed directly on the document. Companies can use the GDTI as a method of identification and registration of documents and related events. They can also use the GDTI for information retrieval, document tracking, and electronic archiving.
